NEWS!

We are pleased to announce that we have started a metal-recycling program. We are now buying brass and copper in amounts of 5 (five) or more pounds. Certain articles of steel and aluminum will be accepted, with-out charge and with out payment. Call or e-mail for more details.

Also, we will also be recycling cardboard sometime in the near future.

If you have any questions, contact us.

Prices Are Increasing

We have been trying our hardest to keep our prices as low as possible, bowever we need to increase our prices. As of January 1, 2012 our residential service prices have increased to $40 per month plus applicable taxes.

Our commercial rates will also be raised $2 per yard.
Our commercial rates that are billed at a fixed monthly rate will also be raised on a per account basis.

Our roll-off rates and transfer station fees will stay the same, except for bagged garbage which will be raised to $6 per 30 (thirty) gallon bag plus applicable taxes.

A NOTICE TO COOK COUNTY

Due to illegal dumping at our dump-station, I feel it is necessary to post a reminder to all residents of the area.

Unlawful Deposit of Garbage in Minnesota is defined as follows:

“Whoever unlawfully deposits garbage, rubbish, cigarette filters, debris from fireworks, offal, or the body of a dead animal, or other litter in or upon any public highway, public waters or the ice thereon, shoreland areas adjacent to rivers or streams as defined by section 103F.205, public lands, or, without the consent of the owner, private lands or water or ice thereon, is guilty of a petty misdemeanor.”
-Minnesota Statute 609.68

At Pederson’s Disposal we consider Unlawful Deposit of Garbage as anything left at our facility that is unpaid for, or deposited after hours. Our hours of operation are 10 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday and 10 AM – 2 PM on Saturday. Any dumping after or before these hours of operation, is considered ILLEGAL! Any person found to be illegally dumping on any of our properties WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW!

If you know of someone who illegally dumps at any of our facilities, please LET US KNOW! This is becoming a big problem, and needs to be dealt with!

Transfer Station Hours of Operation

Our hours of operation for our transfer station are as follows:

Monday - Friday
10 AM - 5 PM

Saturday
10 AM - 2 PM

Sunday
Closed

In addition, our office is closed during all major, national holidays. However, pick-up service will not cease for any holidays.

Any use of our transfer station after hours, or on days when we are closed, is strictly prohibited!

Transfer Station

Our transfer station is located at 72 Eliasen Mill Road, Grand Marais, Minnesota. The Eliasen Mill Road is just east of Superior Lumber on Highway 61.

At our transfer station, we accept almost all materials. However, we do not accept the following:

1. Any liquids.
2. Hazardous Materials.
3. Animal or Human waste of any kind.

An up-to-date price list for the items most commonly accepted at our Transfer Station is available by clicking here.

Blue Bags

Our blue bags are no longer available for purchase at Super America in Grand Marais. Aditionally, our blue bags are now only for our elderly residents, or residents that are otherwise physically unable to bring their garbage to our dumpstation and can not afford the monthly residential service.

We apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause.
